Lets see it!!

A 1/4 inch of concrete is probably fine, but can run into issues when shaping it as it may get too thin or weak in some areas, I would reccommend a bit thicker of concrete but you should be totally fine anyways. A thicker layer will feel a bit different thana thinner one but as long as you dont go too thin that it could break then you're fine.

Cant wait to see it done.

Wish I would have done a practice bowl or something before this one, ended up a little bumpier than I wanted it to. Petr just makes it look like nothing but I used a crappy concrete that I sifted through all the big crap. Anyways I just put a second coat of primer and I'll paint the rest when I have free time, I work tomorrow but should be able to get some painting done. I liked the green screen video you did with your new bowl, neat idea. I'll get better at this though, had too much fun making this one. I just know what not to do next time. This bowl will still turn out fine and will be fun to sesh for sure. Pics will be up in the next couple days happy

*snip*
Are those mini bricks around it? Love the yellow, I'm going to use a paint brush for mine, I contemplated spray painting mine but ended up buying some small cans of custom paint to match the pool mine is based off of. I just finished the last of the concrete tonight, put a layer of type 10 on it so there will be no bumps and the edges will be nice and square. I'll have some pictures posted asap, I would post them now but I can't find my phone with the photos I took earlier. Really looking forward to finishing this thing, funnest project I've ever done. I wish I tried this hard with my high school projects.. Definitely feel an addiction coming on.

Fixing bumps and squaring edges, I don't have a whole lot of time to work on it since I get off work at 10pm most nights but its coming along. Just want to finish it.

Yep, about quarter inch regular cement that I sifted through to get to the finer stuff and then a thinner layer of Portland cement on top, wasn't sure if Portland cement would have been strong enough, might have been but didnt want it to crack.

Thanks everybody, just a bit more fine sanding to get rid of the baby bumps and I'm going to make a border around the exposed styrofoam sides and then it'll just need to be painted.

Is that drywall tape??
perfect idea easier than using staples and shit.

Exactly man, what happened was, I did use some stronger wire and fencing staples and strong concrete then I did a coat of primer so the thinner drywall tape would stick, the drywall tape wouldn't stick to the styrofoam and wouldn't e wry strong. And the drywall tape made it better for the type 10 cement to stay in place

Takes a lot of time to make it look real nice, still not done mine. Just don't have a lot of free time to work on it though. It's messy and costs a bit to make but It's been the funnest project I've done. Definitely would recommend making one.
